Scripture: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
Devotional
Your work is not just shaped by your skills—it is shaped by your heart. Attitudes, motivations, and internal pressures influence how you approach decisions, relationships, and responsibilities.
In a performance-driven environment, it is easy for your heart to be affected by comparison, stress, pride, or fear. Over time, these influences can subtly shift your focus from serving God to proving yourself or pleasing others.
Scripture calls you to guard your heart because it is the source of everything you do. When your heart is aligned with God—grounded in truth, humility, and trust—your work reflects those qualities.
Guarding your heart requires intentionality. It means spending time in prayer, staying rooted in Scripture, and regularly evaluating your motives. It means asking: Am I working for approval, or from a place of identity in Christ?
When your heart is right, your work follows.
Today, take time to examine your heart and realign it with God’s truth.
Reflection Questions:
What influences are currently shaping your attitude toward work?
How can you intentionally guard your heart this week?
Prayer
God, protect my heart from distractions and pressures that pull me away from You. Help me work from a place of peace and purpose. Amen.
