Guarding Your Priorities [Banker #123]
Scripture
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness…” — Matthew 6:33
Devotional
Work is important, but it was never meant to become ultimate.
Banking can easily consume your time, energy, and attention. Responsibilities multiply quickly. Goals, deadlines, and opportunities can slowly crowd out spiritual priorities if you are not intentional.
This is why Jesus reminds you to seek God’s Kingdom first.
When work becomes your highest priority, imbalance eventually follows. Spiritual health weakens. Relationships suffer. Peace diminishes. But when God remains first, every other responsibility begins to align properly.
Seeking God first does not mean neglecting your work—it means approaching your work from the right foundation.
Your identity is not rooted in your career. Your security is not found in achievement. Your worth is not measured by productivity.
God must remain at the center.
Today, take an honest look at your priorities. Are they aligned with what matters most?
Reflection Questions
• Have work responsibilities begun crowding out my spiritual priorities?
• What practical changes could help me seek God first more consistently?
Action Step
Set aside intentional time today for prayer or Scripture before becoming consumed by work responsibilities.
Prayer
Lord, help me keep You first in every area of my life. Guard my heart from misplaced priorities and keep me grounded in Your truth. Amen.
