Guarding Your Thoughts During Stress [Sales Professional #178]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
“We take every thought captive to obey Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 10:5 (ESV)
Devotional
Stressful seasons invite mental spirals—catastrophic thinking, self-criticism, negative assumptions. These thoughts can become strongholds if left unchallenged. Scripture calls you to take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to Christ.
Capturing thoughts means identifying lies and replacing them with truth:
“I’m a failure” → “I am God’s workmanship.”
“Nothing will ever change” → “God is working even now.”
“This is hopeless” → “My hope is in the Lord.”
“It’s all on me” → “God is my provider and strength.”
Your mind is a battlefield. Refuse to let unchecked thoughts rule you. Fill your mind with Scripture, prayer, worship, and truth. Christ is Lord over your thoughts—even the stressed ones.
Reflection Questions
What recurring thoughts surface during stressful weeks?
Are these thoughts aligned with Christ—or with fear, shame, or lies?
What Scriptures can I use to replace inaccurate thoughts?
Prayer
Lord, help me take every thought captive. Expose lies and replace them with Your truth. Guard my mind and fill it with peace and clarity in Christ. Amen.
