Honoring God in the Mundane [Financial Advisor #39]

Scripture: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus…” — Colossians 3:17a

Devotional

Not every day in financial advising is exciting. Some are filled with paperwork, data entry, compliance updates, or administrative reviews. It’s easy to wonder, Does this even matter? But Scripture answers with a resounding yes: “Whatever you do… do it all in the name of the Lord.”

Faithfulness in the mundane is worship. When you honor God with the unnoticed tasks, you cultivate a spirit of excellence and integrity that prepares you for greater things. And often, it’s in the mundane that your character is refined.

Christ is Lord over every part of your day—not just the client meetings or big presentations, but the quiet, uncelebrated work behind the scenes. Approach each moment, no matter how routine, as an opportunity to glorify Him.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Are there parts of your job you’ve been overlooking as spiritually significant?

  2. How can you shift your mindset to see the mundane as mission?

  3. What might change if you offered every part of your workday as worship?

Prayer

God, help me see You in the ordinary. Give me joy and purpose in every task, knowing that nothing is wasted when it’s done for You
