Scripture: “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 10:17 (ESV)
Devotional
Few things feel better than winning a hard-fought legal battle. The hours you’ve labored, the arguments you’ve crafted, the risks you’ve taken—all culminate in a moment of vindication. And while celebrating success is right and natural, Scripture reminds us to guard our hearts against pride.
Paul tells the Corinthians to boast in the Lord—not in our abilities, track record, or intelligence. Why? Because every victory is ultimately from Him. Your gifts, your training, your opportunities—they are all grace.
Humility in victory doesn’t mean false modesty. It means acknowledging the source of your strength. It means using your success not to elevate yourself, but to elevate Christ. It means staying grounded, grateful, and gracious—even when the world wants to applaud you.
When you win, let your clients see integrity. Let your colleagues see composure. Let your competitors see dignity. Your greatest witness in moments of success is not how loudly you celebrate—but how deeply you remember who made it possible.
Boast wisely. Not in yourself, but in the One who gave you the win.
Reflection Questions:
How do you typically respond to professional success—with pride or praise?
What habits can help you remain humble in seasons of victory?
Is there someone you can encourage today by sharing how God brought you through?
Prayer
God, thank You for every victory. Guard me from arrogance, and remind me that all I have comes from You. Let my success reflect Your goodness, not my greatness.
