Scripture: “What do you have that you did not receive?” — 1 Corinthians 4:7 (ESV)
Devotional
Sales can bring seasons of great success—big deals closed, awards earned, recognition received. In those moments, pride can quietly whisper, “You did this. You deserve the credit.” But Scripture reminds you that every ability, opportunity, relationship, and result is a gift from God.
Humility doesn’t deny your hard work; it simply recognizes God as the ultimate source of every good thing. He opened doors, sustained you through discouragement, guided your decisions, and gave you strength to persevere.
When you succeed, humility responds with gratitude, not self-glory. It celebrates, but it also points upward. It thanks God privately and acknowledges His help publicly when appropriate.
Humility in success keeps your heart soft, your relationships healthy, and your witness strong. You can enjoy the fruit while remembering the Giver.
Reflection Questions:
· How do I typically respond inwardly when I experience success?
· Are there any ways pride has crept into my attitude or conversations?
· How can I intentionally give God glory in seasons of blessing?
Prayer
Father, thank You for every success You’ve allowed me to experience. Guard my heart from pride. Help me remain humble, grateful, and aware that everything I have is from You. Amen.
