Scripture: “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (ESV)
Devotional
In a commission-driven field, your emotional state can rise and fall with your pipeline. A strong quarter can inflate your confidence; a dry season can crush it. But your deepest identity is not “producer” or “underperformer.” You belong to Christ.
You were bought with a price far greater than any commission check—the blood of Jesus. That means your worth is fixed, unchanging, and secure, regardless of market conditions. You are His, on your best days and your worst days. Deals may collapse, but your identity does not.
When you anchor your heart in this truth, you’re less vulnerable to pride when things go well and less vulnerable to despair when they don’t. You can work hard, strategize wisely, and still rest in the reality that your value is settled at the cross.
Reflection Questions:
· How much do my emotions rise and fall with my deal flow?
· What truths about my identity in Christ do I need to rehearse more often?
Prayer
Jesus, thank You that I belong to You. Help me hold my work loosely and my identity in You tightly. Let this truth stabilize my heart today. Amen.
