Scripture: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 (ESV)
Devotional
Real estate is filled with disappointments—offers fall through, buyers change their minds, inspections reveal problems, financing collapses, or clients choose another agent. These moments sting because you invest time, energy, and heart into serving people well.
How you handle disappointment reveals who you trust.
When disappointment hits, you can respond with bitterness, self-criticism, or discouragement. Or you can lean into God’s nearness, trusting that He is working even when doors close. Disappointment is not punishment; it is preparation. Sometimes God blocks what isn’t good for you. Sometimes He redirects you toward better opportunities. Sometimes He grows your character through unmet expectations.
Integrity means staying faithful, gracious, and hopeful even when things don’t go your way. It means not blaming others, not speaking poorly, and not letting disappointment sour your spirit.
You can trust God with every outcome—because He is close to the brokenhearted and sovereign over your path.
Reflection Questions:
· How do I typically respond to disappointment in my business?
· What recent disappointment do I need to surrender to God?
· What truth from Scripture can anchor my hope?
Prayer
Lord, help me trust You in disappointment. Heal the areas of my heart discouraged by unmet expectations. Remind me that You are near and working for my good. Amen.
