Integrity in Internal Politics [Sales Professional #46]

Scripture: “Let us walk properly as in the daytime…” — Romans 13:13 (ESV)

Devotional

Sales organizations can have complex internal politics—favoritism, gossip, alliances, and unspoken agendas. It’s easy to get drawn into conversations or strategies that quietly undermine others in order to advance yourself. But Scripture calls you to walk “properly as in the daytime”—living in such a way that nothing needs to be hidden.

Integrity extends beyond client interactions to how you treat coworkers and leaders behind closed doors. You honor Christ when you refuse to participate in gossip, when you speak truthfully about others, and when you refuse to manipulate relationships for personal gain.

You may not control the culture around you, but you can embody a different one. A Christlike presence in the middle of politics is refreshing: honest, fair, respectful, and unwilling to tear others down.

Choose to be a person of the light in every hallway conversation, team meeting, and private chat.

Reflection Questions:

·       How do I talk about coworkers, managers, or competitors when they’re not present?

·       Have I ever used internal politics to my advantage in a way that didn’t honor Christ?

·       What does it look like to “walk properly as in the daytime” in my company culture?

Prayer

Lord, keep me from compromising in office politics. Help me speak and act in ways that honor You and respect others. Let my presence bring light and integrity into every internal conversation. Amen.
