Integrity in the Midst of Misunderstanding [Residential Broker #69]

Integrity in the Midst of Misunderstanding [Residential Broker #69]

Scripture: “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable…” — 1 Peter 2:12 (ESV)

Devotional

Sometimes you will be misunderstood—by clients who misinterpret your intentions, by agents who assume the worst, by partners who misjudge your motives. These moments are painful, especially when you’ve acted with integrity.

But misunderstanding is not the measure of your faithfulness.

Integrity means you remain honorable even when misrepresented. You don’t retaliate, defend obsessively, or compromise your character. You trust God to vindicate you in His timing.

Jesus Himself was constantly misunderstood, yet He remained faithful, steady, and gracious. He invites you to walk the same path—choosing humility over defensiveness, prayer over panic, and character over vindication.

Your honorable conduct is your defense. God will take care of the rest.

Reflection Questions:

·       Where have I been misunderstood recently?

·       How can I respond with grace instead of reaction?

·       What does honorable conduct look like in this situation?

Prayer

Lord, strengthen me when I’m misunderstood. Help me maintain honorable conduct and trust You with my reputation. Give me grace to respond wisely. Amen.
