Scripture: “Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.” — Proverbs 11:13 (ESV)
Devotional
In sales, you often handle sensitive information—client finances, strategic plans, personal details, pricing structures, and internal data. How you steward that information reveals your trustworthiness.
Being “trustworthy in spirit” means you protect what is private, share only what is necessary, and refuse to use confidential information to your advantage in ways that are unethical or disloyal. Clients and coworkers should feel safe confiding in you, knowing you will not exploit or broadcast what they share.
Loose talk can damage reputations, relationships, and even careers. But guarded speech and respectful confidentiality build deep trust. You reflect Christ when you use your access to information to serve and protect others, not to leverage or expose them.
Let your reputation be that of someone who can be trusted with what others hold close.
Reflection Questions:
· How do I handle confidential information shared by clients or coworkers?
· Have I ever shared something I shouldn’t have, even casually?
· What boundaries do I need to set to better guard others’ privacy?
Prayer
Lord, make me trustworthy in spirit. Help me handle confidential information with care, wisdom, and respect. Guard my mouth from careless sharing and let others feel safe confiding in me. Amen.
