Integrity with Small Agreements [Commercial Broker #46]

Integrity with Small Agreements [Commercial Broker #46]

Scripture: “He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much.” — Luke 16:10 (ESV)

Devotional

Not all commitments in brokerage are formal. You say, “I’ll send that over this afternoon,” “I’ll make that call,” or “I’ll follow up next week.” These small promises may never appear in a contract, but they shape how people experience your integrity.

When you consistently follow through on small agreements, people learn they can trust your larger ones. Conversely, when you repeatedly miss minor commitments, others quietly question your reliability—even if they never say it out loud. Every unkept promise, no matter how small, adds a grain of doubt.

Christ cares about the little things because they reveal the heart. Faithfulness in small tasks trains you for faithfulness in weightier responsibilities—bigger clients, more complex deals, greater influence. Integrity is built one kept commitment at a time.

Reflection Questions:

·       What “little” promises have I made recently that I still need to honor?

·       How can I track my verbal commitments better so my follow-through reflects Christ?

Prayer

Lord, help me to be faithful in the small things. Bring to mind any commitments I’ve forgotten and give me the discipline to follow through so others can rely on my word. Amen.
