Scripture
“Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12 (ESV)
Devotional
Not every opportunity will turn into a closed deal. Some will stall, others will evaporate, and some will blow up unexpectedly. But “failure” in sales can become wisdom in the hands of God.
Instead of only asking, “Why didn’t this work?” you can ask, “Lord, what can I learn?” Perhaps you could improve qualification, clarify expectations earlier, adjust your communication approach, or recognize red flags sooner.
Numbering your days means treating each experience—good or bad—as a limited and valuable opportunity to gain wisdom. When you submit your disappointments to the Lord, He can turn them into training for future faithfulness.
Your missed deals do not have to be wasted. They can become part of your equipping.
Reflection Questions
What recent “failed” opportunity still weighs on my mind?
What practical lessons might God be highlighting through it?
How can I capture and apply that wisdom moving forward?
Prayer
Lord, teach me through my missed opportunities. Give me a heart of wisdom that learns, grows, and adjusts. Help me see every experience as part of Your training in my life. Amen.
