Scripture: “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” — Proverbs 20:18

Devotional

Competence can sometimes create isolation. When others rely on your expertise, it may feel difficult to admit uncertainty or seek input. Yet Scripture reminds us that wisdom includes counsel.

Asking for help is not weakness—it is humility. It acknowledges that no one holds complete understanding. Seeking advice strengthens decisions and protects integrity.

In accounting, collaboration enhances accuracy and judgment. Inviting perspective can prevent oversight and build mutual trust. God designed community for growth and accountability.

Today, resist the temptation to carry everything alone. Lean into wise counsel and shared discernment.

Reflection Questions

  1. Where might you benefit from seeking input or advice?

  2. What prevents you from asking for help when needed?

Prayer

God, give me humility to seek counsel. Help me value collaboration and wisdom beyond my own understanding. Amen.
