Listening for God's Direction [Real Estate Dev #157]

Devotional
Developers spend much of their professional lives looking for direction.
Which market? Which site? Which tenant? Which design? Which lender? Which partner? Which timing?
Experience helps narrow the choices, but important decisions often remain uncertain.
God invites you into something deeper than simply choosing the option that appears most logical. He invites you to walk with Him.
Listening for God's direction is not about expecting an audible voice for every decision. It is about cultivating a life close enough to God that Scripture shapes your judgment, prayer sensitizes your heart, wise counsel challenges your assumptions, and obedience becomes your normal response.
Clarity often develops through relationship.
The more consistently you walk with God in ordinary decisions, the more prepared you become to discern His direction in major ones.
Sometimes He provides unmistakable clarity.
Sometimes He closes doors.
Sometimes He asks you to wait.
And sometimes He gives you freedom to choose wisely between several good options.
Your responsibility is not to force certainty where God has not provided it.
Your responsibility is to remain surrendered.
The goal of discernment is not simply receiving the right answer.
It is becoming the kind of person who faithfully follows God wherever He leads.

• How intentionally am I listening for God's direction?
• What makes it difficult for me to wait when direction is unclear?
• Am I willing to follow God's guidance if it differs from my preference?
Action Step
Spend ten uninterrupted minutes praying about one current decision without presenting God with your preferred outcome.
Prayer
Father, quiet my heart so I can recognize Your direction. Remove my need to control the outcome and give me courage to follow wherever You lead. Amen.
