Scripture: “A trustworthy man keeps a confidence.” — Proverbs 11:13 (ESV)
Devotional
Real estate places you in privileged proximity to families, finances, fears, and private information. You hear things others don’t—marital tensions, financial struggles, health concerns, job changes, relocations, and personal reasons for selling. How you handle this information speaks volumes about your character.
Confidentiality is not optional—it is a calling.
Gossip, oversharing, or using a client’s situation for leverage violates trust and dishonors the Lord. Even well-intentioned “small talk” about a client’s personal matter can cause deep harm. A trustworthy broker protects clients, not exposes them.
Confidentiality builds a safe environment where clients feel secure, respected, and valued. They know their hearts, lives, and challenges are safe with you. This safety opens the door for deeper ministry, honest conversations, and spiritual connection—even without overt evangelism.
Be someone who keeps confidences as sacred trusts.
Reflection Questions:
· Do I ever share client information that should remain private?
· How can I protect confidentiality more intentionally?
· Who needs me to safeguard their story today?
Prayer
Lord, help me honor every client’s privacy. Guard my tongue and purify my intent. Make me faithful with the personal details entrusted to me. Amen.
