Making Decisions with Eternal Values [Financial Advisor #130]

Scripture

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2.

Devotional

Every day, you help clients make decisions about resources, priorities, and future plans.

As important as those decisions are, there is a larger question beneath them all:

What truly matters?

The world often evaluates decisions through the lens of profit, status, comfort, or security. Scripture calls believers to evaluate decisions through the lens of eternity.

Eternal values include integrity, generosity, faithfulness, service, and obedience to God.

These values do not replace practical wisdom—they guide it.

As a financial advisor, you have opportunities to encourage conversations that move beyond accumulation and toward purpose.

You can help people think not only about what they own, but also about what they value.

You can help them consider not only what they will leave behind, but also how they will live today.

Living with eternal values changes how you approach your own decisions as well.

You become less driven by temporary rewards and more focused on lasting impact.

Because at the end of life, what matters most will not be what you accumulated.

It will be how faithfully you used what God entrusted to you.

Reflection Questions

• What values most influence my decisions today?

• How often do I evaluate choices through an eternal perspective?

• How can I encourage clients to think beyond financial outcomes?

Action Step

Review one current goal or decision and ask yourself how it aligns with God's eternal priorities.

Prayer

Father, help me make decisions that reflect Your values. Keep my heart focused on what matters most and use my work to create lasting Kingdom impact. Amen.
