Scripture: “A faithful man will abound with blessings.” — Proverbs 28:20 (ESV)
Devotional
One of the most loving things you can do in sales is manage expectations honestly. Overpromising may generate excitement initially, but it eventually leads to disappointment and distrust. Faithfulness looks like giving realistic timelines, candid assessments, and honest updates—even when it makes you feel vulnerable.
Clients appreciate being told what to expect—both the benefits and the limitations. Clear expectations reduce conflict, minimize surprises, and build confidence that you are dependable.
Faithfulness is not just about delivering results; it is about being trustworthy throughout the entire journey. When results don’t go as hoped, your prior honesty and steady communication become anchors that preserve the relationship.
Abounding blessing doesn’t always mean more deals; it means deeper trust, stronger character, and God’s favor resting on your faithfulness.
Reflection Questions:
· Do I ever exaggerate outcomes to make my solution more attractive?
· How can I better manage expectations in current projects or sales cycles?
· Where do I need to communicate more proactively and honestly?
Prayer
Lord, make me faithful in what I promise. Help me set honest expectations and follow through with diligence. Let my clients and coworkers experience Your faithfulness through my consistency. Amen.
