Managing Stress with Faith [Accountant #39]

Scripture: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

Devotional

Stress is a common companion in accounting—deadlines, regulatory demands, financial stakes, and constant responsibility. While stress can sharpen focus temporarily, unchecked anxiety drains peace and clarity.

Scripture offers a different path: casting anxiety on God. This act is not passive; it is deliberate trust. It means acknowledging pressure without allowing it to dominate your spirit. It means bringing concerns to God rather than carrying them alone.

Managing stress with faith involves practical wisdom—setting boundaries, resting appropriately, and seeking counsel when needed. Yet it also requires spiritual surrender. You are not meant to carry every burden independently.

God cares about your well-being. When you bring your stress to Him, you invite His peace to steady your heart and mind.

Today, release what you cannot control and rest in the care of a faithful God.

Reflection Questions

  1. What stressors most frequently disrupt your peace?

  2. How can you practice surrender in the midst of pressure?

Prayer

God, I give You my anxieties. Fill me with Your peace and guide me through today’s responsibilities with calm and trust. Amen.
