No Corner-Cutting [Residential Broker #45]

Scripture: “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.” — Proverbs 10:9 (ESV)

Devotional

Corner-cutting is one of the most subtle temptations in real estate:

• Skipping a detail in the listing description

• Rushing through a contract

• Avoiding an uncomfortable disclosure

• Overlooking a missing document

• Ignoring a potential issue to save time

These shortcuts may feel harmless—but they erode integrity and invite future trouble.

Walking in integrity means doing things the right way the first time, even when it is inconvenient, slower, or more difficult. It means being thorough, diligent, and attentive in every step of the process. It means valuing excellence over expedience.

Clients trust you not because you work fast, but because you work faithfully. Excellence reflects the character of God, who never rushes, never cuts corners, and never fails to follow through.

Choose the higher path today—the secure path of integrity and diligence.

Reflection Questions:

·       Where am I most tempted to take shortcuts?

·       What detail needs my attention before the day ends?

·       How does thoroughness reflect God’s character?

Prayer

Father, help me walk in completeness, not shortcuts. Strengthen my diligence and attention to detail. Guide me to honor You in every task, big or small. Amen.
