Patience Under Pressure [Accountant #17]

Scripture: “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” — Psalm 37:7

Devotional

Pressure can make patience feel like a luxury. Deadlines compress time, expectations escalate, and decisions demand urgency. In these moments, impatience can lead to mistakes, strained relationships, or compromised judgment.

Scripture reminds us that patience is not passivity—it is trust in God’s timing. Patience steadies your spirit when pressure threatens to overwhelm. It creates space for clarity, wisdom, and discernment.

As an accountant, patience may mean slowing down when rushing feels tempting. It may require taking a breath before responding, double-checking when time is short, or choosing calm over anxiety. These choices protect both integrity and peace.

God is not hurried. When you practice patience, you align your pace with His and allow Him to guide your work even in high-pressure moments.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How do you typically respond when pressure intensifies?

  2. Where might patience protect your work and well-being?

Prayer

God, grant me patience when pressure rises. Help me trust Your timing and remain steady in demanding moments. Amen.
