Sometimes your clients are their own biggest risk. They may underestimate expenses, overlook red flags, overestimate demand, or romanticize a particular location. You see danger they don’t see. In those moments, excellence means speaking up—even if it “wounds” their enthusiasm.
A faithful advisor is willing to say, “I’m concerned this may not perform the way you’re expecting,” or, “Here are some risks I don’t want you to ignore.” You’re not trying to crush their vision; you’re trying to protect them from painful consequences they haven’t fully considered.
Of course, they may proceed anyway—that’s their decision. But your responsibility before God is to give honest counsel to the best of your knowledge. Remaining silent to keep them happy in the short term can lead to a deeper breach of trust later.
Love tells the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, give me courage to speak up when I see risks my clients are missing. Help me protect them with truthful counsel delivered in humility and love. Amen.
