Scripture: “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.” — Ephesians 5:15–16
Devotional
Most opportunities to reflect your faith at work are not scheduled—they are discovered. They often appear in ordinary moments: a colleague sharing a personal struggle, a client expressing uncertainty, or a conversation that shifts beyond business.
These are spiritual moments. And they require awareness.
It is easy to move quickly from task to task, focused on deadlines and responsibilities, and miss what God is doing right in front of you. But Scripture calls you to live with attentiveness—to recognize opportunities and respond with wisdom.
Spiritual moments rarely require perfect words. Often, they begin with listening well, asking thoughtful questions, and being present. When you slow down enough to notice, you begin to see your workplace differently—not just as a place of work, but as a place where God is already at work.
You don’t need to force conversations. You need to be ready when they come. God is faithful to create opportunities—you are called to recognize them.
Today, ask God to open your eyes to the moments that matter.
Reflection Questions:
Do I tend to move too quickly to notice meaningful moments with others?
When have I missed opportunities to engage more deeply?
What would it look like to be more attentive today?
Action Step: Pause twice during your workday to intentionally observe your interactions and ask, “Is there an opportunity here to care more deeply or listen more intentionally?”
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to the opportunities around me. Help me to be attentive, present, and ready to respond to what You are doing in the lives of others. Amen.
