Recognizing When to Wait [Real Estate Dev #129]

Scripture

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage…” — Psalm 27:14

Devotional

Developers are trained to move projects forward. Momentum matters. Delays often feel frustrating, costly, or unproductive. Yet wisdom sometimes requires waiting rather than pushing ahead prematurely.

Waiting can feel uncomfortable because it limits control. It forces patience when you would prefer certainty. But throughout Scripture, waiting is often connected to spiritual maturity and trust in God.

Some decisions require additional clarity. Some opportunities need further development. Some situations benefit from restraint rather than immediate action. Wise leadership recognizes the difference between faithful initiative and unnecessary haste.

Waiting does not mean inactivity. It means remaining attentive, prayerful, and prepared while trusting God’s timing. It means resisting the temptation to force movement simply because standing still feels difficult.

Many costly mistakes occur because leaders move before there is sufficient peace, wisdom, or alignment. Patience protects stewardship.

God is never rushed. He sees outcomes and implications far beyond your perspective. Learning to wait on Him develops trust and steadiness within your leadership.

Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is pause long enough to let clarity emerge before taking the next step.

Reflection Questions

  • Where am I struggling with impatience right now?

  • Am I trying to force movement before clarity exists?

  • What might God be teaching me through waiting?

Action Step

Identify one area where you feel pressure to move quickly and intentionally pause long enough to seek greater wisdom and peace before proceeding.

Prayer

Father, teach me to wait on You with patience and trust. Help me resist unnecessary haste and guide me with wisdom in every decision ahead. Amen.
