Redefining Return on Investment [Financial Advisor #14]

Scripture: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth... But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” — Matthew 6:19–20

Devotional

Return on investment (ROI) is a language you know well. But Jesus redefines it. He invites His followers to consider a different kind of return—one not measured in dollars, but in eternal impact. While you help clients grow earthly assets, you’re also uniquely positioned to guide them toward Kingdom investments.

This doesn’t mean neglecting wise financial planning. It means asking better questions:

  • What will last?

  • What legacy are we building?

  • How can these resources serve a greater purpose?

Encourage clients to think beyond retirement toward eternal reward. Generosity, missions, family discipleship—these are investments with lasting returns. And as you model this mindset in your own life, you invite others to do the same.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What does “eternal ROI” look like in your own life and financial choices?

  2. Are you helping clients evaluate how their resources can reflect eternal priorities?

  3. How might you gently introduce the idea of heavenly treasure in your practice?

Prayer

Lord, teach me to value what You value. Help me lead others not just to financial gain, but to spiritual impact. May our investments reflect the heartbeat of heaven.
