Repentance When You Fall Short [Sales Professional #35]

Scripture: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9 (ESV)

Devotional

Even as a Christian committed to integrity, there will be moments when you fall short—an exaggeration you regret, a promise you didn’t keep, a shortcut you took, a conversation where you pushed too hard. The enemy will try to use these failures to condemn you and whisper, “You’re a hypocrite. Give up.”

But God offers a better path: repentance. Confession is not a punishment—it is a gift. When you bring your failures into the light, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse you. He restores your fellowship with Him and realigns your heart with His.

Sometimes repentance may also involve apologizing to a client or coworker, clarifying a misunderstanding, or correcting an error. These humble steps, though uncomfortable, can become powerful witnesses of Christ’s transforming work in you.

You are not called to perfection—but you are called to humility, honesty, and ongoing growth. When you fall, don’t run from God. Run to Him.

Reflection Questions:

·       Is there any area of my work where I need to repent before God today?

·       Do I need to make anything right with a client, coworker, or leader?

·       How does God’s faithfulness in forgiveness encourage me to keep pursuing integrity?

Prayer

Father, I confess where I’ve fallen short. Thank You for Your faithfulness to forgive and cleanse me. Give me courage to make things right where needed and to walk forward in renewed integrity. Amen.
