Scripture: “Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.” — Proverbs 16:8 (ESV)
Devotional
Compromise rarely begins with major decisions. It starts small—subtle adjustments, overlooked details, justified shortcuts.
In banking, these compromises can seem insignificant in the moment. A small exception here. A minor oversight there. But over time, these decisions shape your character.
Scripture reminds us that righteousness is more valuable than gain.
You may face situations where doing the right thing costs you—financially, professionally, or relationally. You may watch others succeed by cutting corners while you remain committed to integrity.
In those moments, remember: your ultimate reward is not found in temporary success, but in faithfulness to God.
Compromise may offer short-term gain, but it leads to long-term loss—of trust, of integrity, and of peace.
Standing firm may feel difficult, but it builds a foundation that endures.
Today, choose righteousness—even when it costs you.
Reflection Questions:
• Where am I most tempted to compromise?
• How do I justify small compromises in my work?
• What would it look like to consistently choose righteousness?
Action Step: Identify one area of potential compromise and commit to handling it with full integrity.
Prayer
Lord, strengthen me to resist compromise. Help me to value righteousness above gain. Give me the courage to stand firm in every situation. Amen.
