Resolving Conflict with Humility [Healthcare Professional #114]
Scripture
"If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." — Romans 12:18.
Devotional
Whenever people work closely together, disagreements will occasionally arise. Different personalities, stressful situations, and demanding workloads can create tension even among dedicated professionals. The question is not whether conflict will occur, but how we choose to respond.
Scripture encourages believers to pursue peace whenever possible. That doesn't mean avoiding difficult conversations or pretending problems don't exist. Rather, it means approaching conflict with humility, respect, and a sincere desire for understanding rather than simply proving ourselves right.
Healthcare professionals who handle conflict well strengthen both their teams and the quality of patient care. Listening carefully, speaking respectfully, and seeking solutions instead of assigning blame creates an environment where trust can flourish. These attitudes reflect Christ's character far more than winning an argument ever could.
Ask God to help you become a peacemaker in your workplace. When disagreements arise, let your first response be humility. A calm spirit and gracious attitude often accomplish far more than harsh words or stubborn pride.
