Scripture: “So God created man in His own image…” — Genesis 1:27 (ESV)
Devotional
Your clients come from many backgrounds—some kind, some demanding, some grateful, some difficult. It’s easy, especially under pressure, to see them as “accounts,” “tenants,” “owners,” or “investors” instead of what they truly are: people made in the image of God.
Every person you email, call, tour, or negotiate with bears profound dignity. They have fears, hopes, families, and stories you may never fully know. Seeing them as image-bearers shifts the way you interact. You become more patient when they’re stressed. More honest when they’re vulnerable. More prayerful when they’re hurting.
This perspective protects you from both flattery and frustration. You won’t idolize powerful clients, because they’re humans like you. You won’t despise difficult clients, because they’re still deeply valued by God. Instead, you’ll serve each one with consistent honor.
Reflection Questions:
· Is there a client I’ve been viewing as an obstacle instead of as an image-bearer?
· How might my tone and attitude change if I remembered every person I meet reflects God’s design?
Prayer
Father, help me see every client, colleague, and counterpart as someone made in Your image. Shape my words and actions to reflect Your respect and compassion for them. Amen.
