Development requires expertise across many disciplines.
No developer fully understands engineering, architecture, law, construction, finance, leasing, environmental conditions, municipal regulations, and every other issue affecting a project.
That reality should produce humility.
Wise developers build teams of people willing to tell them what they need to hear—not merely what they want to hear.
Scripture affirms this principle. Wise counsel strengthens decisions because other people see things you cannot.
But counsel must be chosen carefully.
An adviser can possess tremendous technical expertise while lacking wisdom. Someone can understand the economics of a decision without understanding its ethical implications.
That is why Christian developers need both professional and spiritual counsel.
You need attorneys, engineers, contractors, brokers, lenders, and other specialists who understand their disciplines. But you also need spiritually mature people who understand you—people willing to challenge your motives, question your assumptions, and remind you what matters when money clouds judgment.
Seeking counsel is not indecision.
It is humility in action.
The stronger your experience becomes, the more intentional you may need to be about remaining teachable.
God often answers prayers for wisdom through the voices of people He has placed around you.
Listen carefully.

• Are spiritually mature voices represented among my trusted advisers?

Identify one important decision and ask a trusted adviser, “What am I not seeing?”
Prayer
Father, surround me with wise people who will speak truth into my decisions. Give me humility to listen carefully, especially when their counsel challenges what I want to hear. Amen.
