Scripture: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:4 (ESV)
Devotional
The brokerage world often measures success by production and personal gain, but Christ teaches a different standard: valuing others above yourself. Serving clients well means advocating for their real needs—not manipulating their decisions for your benefit.
Sometimes serving a client means advising them not to buy. Sometimes it means telling them to walk away from a deal that benefits you. Sometimes it means investing time into someone who may never close with you. This kind of service is countercultural—and deeply Christlike.
Your clients may not remember every detail of the transaction, but they will always remember how you treated them. Serve them with integrity, patience, and selflessness.
Reflection Questions:
· Can I identify a recent moment when I put my interests ahead of a client’s?
· How might God be calling me to elevate service over self today?
Prayer
Lord, make me a servant-hearted broker. Help me value my clients’ well-being more than my own gain, and let my service reflect Your heart. Amen.
