Scripture
Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. Philippians 4:5.
Devotional
Serving with excellence doesn’t mean serving without boundaries. Healthy boundaries protect your integrity, energy, family, and spiritual health. They allow you to serve clients well without becoming overwhelmed, reactive, or depleted.
Clear boundaries might include:
• designated communication hours,
• Sabbath rest,
• limits around last-minute demands,
• protecting family commitments,
• keeping emotional distance from unhealthy clients.
Boundaries communicate respect—for yourself, your time, your calling, and your relationships. They help you serve others sustainably and joyfully. When your boundaries are clear and reasonable, clients often appreciate your professionalism—even if they push back at first.
Jesus Himself practiced boundaries. You can too.
Reflection Questions
• Which boundary in my life needs strengthening?
• Where am I saying “yes” out of pressure instead of wisdom?
• How can I communicate boundaries with grace?
Prayer
Lord, help me establish boundaries that honor You and protect my wellbeing. Give me courage to uphold them and wisdom to communicate them lovingly. Amen.
