Serving Through Encouragement [Real Estate Dev #85]

Serving Through Encouragement [Real Estate Dev #85]

Scripture

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Devotional

Development can be demanding. Long timelines, complex challenges, and constant pressure can wear on teams and partners. In the middle of that environment, encouragement becomes a powerful form of service.

People rarely forget how they are treated during difficult seasons. A word of encouragement at the right moment can restore energy, build confidence, and strengthen relationships.

As a developer, your words carry influence. When you recognize effort, affirm progress, and express appreciation, you help create a culture where people feel valued and motivated.

Encouragement is not about ignoring problems—it’s about strengthening people as they face them. It helps others stay engaged and focused even when the work is hard.

Jesus consistently encouraged those around Him. He saw potential, spoke life, and lifted others up. You are called to do the same.

In a results-driven environment, encouragement may seem secondary. But it is essential to serving others well.

Your ability to build people is just as important as your ability to build projects.

Reflection Questions

  • When was the last time I intentionally encouraged someone I work with?

  • Do my words build others up or primarily focus on tasks and results?

  • Who on my team could benefit from encouragement today?

Action Step

Take a moment today to intentionally encourage someone you work with—recognize their effort, contribution, or progress.

Prayer

Lord, use my words to build others up. Help me encourage those around me and reflect Your love through how I speak and lead. Amen.
