In a competitive field, you’re told to “sell yourself”—build a brand, project confidence, showcase wins. There’s nothing wrong with sharing experience and results; clients need to know why they can trust you. But it’s easy to slide from honest representation into subtle self-exaltation or inflated claims.
Serving with excellence means marketing yourself with integrity. You present real achievements without stretching the truth. You give credit to teams, partners, and the grace of God rather than pretending you alone made everything happen. You communicate confidence without arrogance, results without exaggeration.
Ultimately, your goal isn’t to convince people you’re a savior; it’s to demonstrate that you’re a faithful steward. God can open the doors your marketing cannot. He can speak for you in rooms you never enter.
Do your part with honesty and skill—and let Him handle the praise.
