Serving Through Patience in Process [Real Estate Dev #84]

Scripture: “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord… establish your hearts.” — James 5:7–8

Devotional

Development is a process—and often a long one. Entitlements take time. Construction progresses in phases. Financing evolves. Rarely does anything move as quickly as you would prefer.

In the midst of this, patience becomes essential. Not passive waiting, but steady, grounded endurance.

Serving others with excellence includes patience with the process. When you become impatient, it can lead to rushed decisions, strained relationships, and unnecessary pressure on those around you.

Patience allows space for better outcomes. It provides room for thoughtful decision-making and careful execution. It also communicates stability to your team and partners.

God’s work is often slow and deliberate. He is not rushed, and He is never late. When you align with His timing, you begin to lead with a different pace—one marked by trust rather than urgency.

Patience is not about inactivity—it is about steady faithfulness over time.

Your willingness to remain patient in the process serves others by creating a healthier, more sustainable environment for everyone involved.

Reflection Questions

  • Where am I feeling impatient in my current work?

  • How is that impatience affecting others?

  • What would it look like to trust God’s timing more fully?

Action Step: When you encounter a delay or frustration today, pause and intentionally choose a patient response instead of reacting quickly.

Prayer

Father, help me to be patient in the process. Steady my heart and guide my pace so that I lead with wisdom and trust in Your timing. Amen.
