Scripture: “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” — Ephesians 6:7 (ESV)
Devotional
There are days when serving feels natural—and days when it feels difficult. Fatigue, frustration, and repeated demands can make your work feel like an obligation rather than a calling.
But God is not only concerned with what you do—He is concerned with how you do it.
Serving with a willing heart means approaching your responsibilities with intentional surrender. It means choosing to serve, even when you don’t feel like it. It means remembering that your ultimate service is to God, not just to people.
This perspective transforms your work.
When you serve reluctantly, your attitude can become heavy and burdensome. But when you serve willingly, your work becomes purposeful and meaningful.
A willing heart doesn’t ignore difficulty—it rises above it through perspective.
God sees your effort. He honors your willingness.
Today, choose to serve not out of obligation, but out of devotion.
Reflection Questions:
• Are there areas where your attitude toward serving has become negative?
• What would it look like to serve with a renewed willingness?
Action Step: Identify one task you normally dislike and intentionally approach it today with a positive and willing attitude.
Prayer
Father, give me a willing heart. Help me to serve with joy and purpose in all I do. Amen.
