Serving Without Recognition [Accountant #64]

Listen to devotional here.

Scripture: "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” — Ephesians 6:7

Devotional

Not all work is recognized. There are moments when your efforts go unnoticed, your contributions unacknowledged, and your diligence overlooked.

In those moments, it is easy to feel discouraged or undervalued. Yet Scripture reminds you that your ultimate audience is not people—it is God.

Serving without recognition requires humility and trust. It means believing that your work matters, even when it is not publicly affirmed. It means continuing to serve faithfully because your motivation is rooted in something greater than approval.

God sees what others miss. He values your faithfulness, your effort, and your heart. Nothing done for Him is wasted.

When you shift your focus from recognition to purpose, your work becomes freeing. You are no longer dependent on external validation—you are anchored in God’s approval.

Today, serve with a wholehearted spirit, trusting that God sees and honors your work.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How do you typically respond when your work goes unrecognized?

  2. What would change if you focused more on serving God than seeking approval?

Prayer

God, help me serve faithfully without needing recognition. Remind me that You see every effort and value my work. Amen.
