Skill in Asking Great Questions [Residential Broker #178]

Scripture

The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out. Proverbs 20:5.

Devotional

Great questions reveal what clients truly value, fear, or hope for. They often carry unspoken concerns or desires beneath the surface. Asking thoughtful questions helps you guide them wisely and serve them more personally.

Great questions draw out:

motivations,

expectations,

emotional needs,

concerns,

long-term goals,

hidden assumptions.

Jesus asked powerful questions—“What do you want Me to do for you?” “Why are you afraid?” “Do you believe?” He used questions to reveal hearts.

Learning to ask the right questions elevates your skill, deepens relationships, and leads to stronger decisions.

Reflection Questions

Do I ask enough questions—or do I assume I know the answers?

Which client needs deeper discovery?

What question could reveal what a client truly needs today?

Prayer

Lord, give me wisdom to ask the right questions. Help me draw out truth, understand deeply, and guide with compassion. Amen.
