Skill in Setting Healthy Boundaries [Residential Broker #176]
Scripture
Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. Philippians 4:5.
Devotional
Boundaries are essential for excellence. They protect your energy, relationships, and spiritual health. Without boundaries, burnout happens. With boundaries, you can serve clients wholeheartedly and sustainably.
Healthy boundaries include:
setting communication hours,
protecting Sabbath rest,
saying “no” when necessary,
not letting urgent requests override all priorities,
guarding family time,
avoiding emotional entanglement.
Boundaries do not reduce your excellence—they strengthen it. When you serve from rest instead of exhaustion, your clarity improves, your patience increases, and your work honors God more fully.
Even Jesus had boundaries. He withdrew to pray, rested, and stepped away from crowds.
Let your reasonableness—your balanced limits—be known.
Reflection Questions
Which boundary in my life needs strengthening?
Where am I serving from depletion rather than rest?
How can I protect my time without losing compassion?
Prayer
Lord, teach me healthy boundaries. Help me serve from strength, not exhaustion, and honor You with wise limits. Amen.
