Skill Paired With Dependence [Residential Broker #180]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
Apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5.
Devotional
Skill alone cannot carry you. Talent cannot sustain you. Experience cannot replace God’s power. Every good thing you accomplish flows from His grace at work in you.
This truth brings freedom—you don’t have to rely solely on your own strength. You can develop your craft diligently while trusting God to fill the gaps, open the doors, guide your steps, and sustain your energy.
Dependence looks like:
praying before appointments,
asking God for clarity,
relying on the Spirit during negotiations,
trusting God for results, not striving anxiously,
submitting every plan to Him.
Skill paired with dependence produces excellence that glorifies Christ—not you. It keeps your heart humble and your work fruitful.
Reflection Questions
Where am I relying too much on my own strength?
How can I invite God into my work more intentionally?
What would dependence look like in today’s tasks?
Prayer
Lord, apart from You I can do nothing. Strengthen my dependence on You and let my skill be powered by Your Spirit. Amen.
