Skill That Serves, Not Impresses [Residential Broker #160]

Scripture

Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant. Mark 10:43.

Devotional

Skill becomes dangerous when its purpose is to impress rather than serve. God calls you to excellence not for applause, competition, or superiority, but for service. True greatness flows from humility—using skill to lift others, not yourself.

Your expertise should make clients feel more confident, not less capable. Your market knowledge should empower, not intimidate. Your negotiation strength should protect, not pressure. Your communication skill should comfort, not overwhelm.

Skill with humility is powerful. It builds trust. It honors clients. It glorifies God. And it transforms your work from a performance into a ministry.

Let today be a day where every skill God has given you is used to serve others with Christlike humility.

Reflection Questions

Am I using my skills to serve or to impress?

How can humility shape my expertise today?

Which client needs my gifts expressed through gentleness?

Prayer

Lord, let my skills be tools of service, not self-promotion. Help me reflect Your humility as I use my gifts to bless others. Amen.
