Speaking About Faith with Wisdom [Accountant #88]

Speaking About Faith with Wisdom [Accountant #88]

Scripture

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God.” — James 1:5

Devotional

There will be moments when a conversation moves beyond work and into something deeper. A question is asked. A struggle is shared. An opportunity to speak about your faith arises.

These moments can feel uncertain. What should you say? How much should you share? Will it be received well?

This is where wisdom becomes essential.

Speaking about faith in the workplace is not about having perfect answers. It is about being guided by the Holy Spirit—knowing when to speak, what to say, and how to say it with humility and respect.

Wisdom helps you discern timing. It helps you listen before responding. It helps you speak in a way that invites conversation rather than shuts it down.

God promises to give wisdom to those who ask. You do not need to rely on your own words—you can trust Him to guide you in the moment.

When you approach these conversations with humility and dependence, they become opportunities for God to work through you.

Reflection Questions

  • How comfortable am I with conversations about faith at work?

  • What fears or uncertainties hold me back?

  • How can I rely more on God’s wisdom in these moments?

Action Step

Before your workday begins, pray specifically for wisdom in any conversations that may arise today.

Prayer

Lord, give me wisdom in every conversation. Help me to speak with clarity, humility, and grace, trusting You to guide my words. Amen.
