Scripture: “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” — Ephesians 4:15
Devotional
Not every financial conversation is easy. Some require you to challenge assumptions, confront unrealistic expectations, or deliver hard truths. As a follower of Christ, your task is not just to be accurate—it is to be honest and loving.
Truth without love wounds. Love without truth misleads. But when both are present, your words carry power, healing, and credibility. Whether you’re counseling someone against risky decisions or urging generosity over self-protection, your posture matters as much as your advice.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words. Take time to listen before you speak. Clarify motives before giving correction. And remember, your ultimate aim is not control—it’s growth, maturity, and stewardship in the lives of those you serve.
Reflection Questions:
Do you tend to shy away from hard conversations or lean too heavily into truth without grace?
How can you better prepare your heart before delivering difficult advice?
When have you experienced the fruit of speaking the truth in love?
Prayer
Jesus, teach me to speak with both conviction and compassion. Let truth be wrapped in grace, and may my counsel build trust, not defensiveness.
