Scripture: “Speak the truth in love…” — Ephesians 4:15
Devotional
There are moments in your work when the truth is not easy to deliver.
A client’s expectations may be unrealistic.
A financial habit may be unsustainable.
A decision may carry more risk than they realize.
In those moments, you are faced with a choice: soften the truth to maintain comfort, or speak honestly with the intention to serve.
As a follower of Christ, you are called to do both—speak truth and do it with love.
Truth without love can feel harsh and damaging. Love without truth can be misleading and harmful. But when combined, they become a powerful expression of care and integrity.
Your clients need honesty. They need someone willing to guide them with clarity, even when it’s uncomfortable. But they also need to feel respected, understood, and supported.
This balance requires wisdom.
It means listening before speaking.
It means choosing words carefully.
It means prioritizing the client’s well-being over your own comfort.
When you speak truth in love, you reflect the heart of Christ. You build trust. And you serve your clients in a way that goes beyond transactions—it becomes transformation.
Reflection Questions:
• Are there situations where you’ve hesitated to speak the truth?
• How can you balance honesty with compassion in your conversations?
• What does it look like to prioritize your client’s best interest?
Prayer
God, give me wisdom and courage to speak truth with love. Help me to communicate clearly and compassionately, always seeking what is best for those I serve. Amen.
