Speaking Truth with Grace [Financial Advisor #74]

Speaking Truth with Grace [Financial Advisor #74]

Scripture: “Speak the truth in love…” — Ephesians 4:15

Devotional

There are moments in your work when truth is hard to deliver.

A client making poor decisions. Unrealistic expectations. Financial habits that need correction. These conversations require both courage and care.

Truth without grace can feel harsh. Grace without truth can be unhelpful.

But when combined, they become powerful.

Speaking truth in love means being honest while honoring the person. It means guiding, not condemning. It means caring enough to say what needs to be said.

Jesus modeled this perfectly. He never compromised truth—but He always delivered it with compassion.

As a financial advisor, your role is not just to agree—it is to guide.

And sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is tell the truth.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Are there conversations you’ve been avoiding because they are difficult?

  2. How do you balance honesty with compassion?

  3. What would it look like to speak truth with both clarity and grace?

Prayer

God, give me courage to speak truth and wisdom to do it with love. Help my words reflect both Your honesty and Your grace. Amen.
