Scripture
Matthew 5:9 — “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Devotional
Conflict is inevitable wherever people work together. The question is not whether conflict will happen, but how you handle it when it does. As a follower of Christ, you are called not just to be a peace-lover, but a peacemaker.
Peacemaking doesn’t mean avoiding hard conversations or pretending everything is fine. It means moving toward others with truth and grace—seeking understanding, owning your part, listening carefully, and working toward reconciliation where possible. It is intentional, often uncomfortable, but deeply Christlike.
When you steward conflict well, you reflect the God who reconciled you to Himself through Christ. Your workplace becomes a place where forgiveness, honesty, and humility can shine in a world that often chooses blame, gossip, or avoidance instead.
Reflection Questions
How do you usually respond to conflict—avoid, attack, or address with grace?
Is there a current or past conflict where God may be calling you to take a peacemaking step?
What might it look like to seek both truth and love in that situation?
Prayer
Jesus, You made peace by the blood of Your cross. Help me be a peacemaker in my workplace. Give me courage to address conflict with humility, wisdom, and love, seeking Your glory above my own comfort. Amen.
