Stewarding Deadlines Without Panic [TDPOW #112]

Stewarding Deadlines Without Panic [TDPOW #112]

Scripture

Psalm 90:12 — “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”

Devotional

Deadlines can sharpen focus—or trigger panic. When time is short and pressure is high, your reactions reveal what you trust. Do you spiral into anxiety, lash out at others, or shut down? Or do you seek wisdom, prioritize, and work with calm dependence on God?

Numbering your days is about recognizing that time is limited and valuable. Wisdom asks, “What matters most right now?” It refuses to let every demand become an emergency, and it resists the lie that your worth is tied to perfect performance under pressure.

As you steward deadlines, you can pray, “Lord, order my steps today.” You may still feel the urgency, but you face it differently—placing both the work and the outcome in God’s hands. Your calm, diligent presence under deadline can itself be a testimony to where your hope truly lies.

Reflection Questions

How do you typically react under tight deadlines—panic, procrastination, or wise focus?

What practices help you stay grounded in God’s presence when time is short?

Is there a current deadline you need to bring intentionally before the Lord?

Prayer

Father, teach me to number my days with wisdom. When deadlines press in, help me respond with trust, not panic. Show me what to prioritize and give me strength to work diligently under Your guidance. Amen.
