Stewarding Time at Work [TDPOW #28]

Scripture: Ephesians 5:15–16 — “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time…”

Devotional

Time is one of the most valuable resources God has given you. Unlike money or possessions, once time is spent, it cannot be recovered. That’s why Scripture calls you to “make the best use of the time”—to live and work with intention rather than drift.

At work, it’s easy to lose time to distraction, procrastination, or constant busyness without progress. Stewarding time doesn’t mean squeezing productivity out of every second; it means aligning your time with God’s purposes. It looks like prioritizing what truly matters, saying no when needed, planning wisely, and being present with the people God has placed around you.

Good time stewardship honors God, serves others, and reduces unnecessary stress. When your time is surrendered to Him, your calendar becomes an instrument of worship rather than a source of bondage.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Where do you feel your time is being wasted or misdirected at work?

  2. What tasks or priorities has God clearly placed in front of you that need focused attention?

  3. How can you invite God into your planning and scheduling today?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of time. Help me use it wisely in my work. Show me what to prioritize, what to release, and how to honor You with each hour I’m given. Amen.
