Scripture: “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” — Psalm 24:1 (ESV)
Devotional
Ownership is a powerful concept in development, but Scripture reframes it entirely. Psalm 24:1 declares that everything—land, resources, opportunity—belongs to the Lord. As a real estate developer, you are not an owner in the ultimate sense; you are a steward entrusted with God’s property.
Stewardship changes how you approach decisions. Profit remains important, but it is not ultimate. Faithful stewardship asks deeper questions: Does this project honor God? Does it serve people well? Does it reflect integrity and care?
Seeing yourself as a steward also relieves unhealthy pressure. You are responsible to manage wisely, not to control outcomes. God remains sovereign over markets, timing, and provision. This frees you to lead with peace rather than anxiety.
Stewardship extends beyond land to influence. Your decisions affect communities, employees, and families. With that influence comes responsibility. God invites you to manage both resources and relationships with humility and faith.
Today, hold your work with open hands. When you steward what belongs to God, you discover the joy of trust and the freedom of obedience.
Reflection Questions:
Where do I act like an owner instead of a steward?
How does stewardship reshape my definition of success?
What decision today requires faithful management rather than control?
Prayer
God, everything belongs to You. Teach me to steward Your resources with wisdom, integrity, and trust. Amen.
This devotional is intended to help you integrate your faith into your daily work and calling. It is not a substitute for personal time with God in Scripture, prayer, and worship, which are essential for knowing Christ, loving Him deeply, and becoming more like Him.
