Scripture: “…you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19–20.
Devotional
Your body is the instrument through which you work—hands that build, eyes that read, a mind that thinks, a voice that speaks, feet that move. Scripture reminds you that your body is not ultimately yours; it belongs to God and is a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Stewarding your body means caring for it as a trust from God. Rest, nutrition, movement, medical care, and healthy boundaries around overwork are not selfish—they’re wise. When you run your body into the ground, you’re neglecting something God has purchased at great cost.
This doesn’t mean obsessing over health or appearance. It means treating your body like equipment on loan from the Lord for the sake of His purposes. A well-cared-for body is better able to serve, love, work, and worship. You glorify God not only with what you do, but with the vessel you do it in.
Reflection Questions:
How are you currently treating your body in relation to your work—overextending, neglecting, or caring well?
What beliefs about work, worth, or busyness may be driving unhealthy choices?
What one small, tangible change could you make to better steward your body as God’s temple?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the body You’ve given me. Forgive me where I’ve neglected or abused it. Help me care for it wisely so I can serve You and others well. Let even my physical habits bring glory to You. Amen.
